Between establishing himself as a premier saxophonist on projects with the likes of Roy Haynes, Dave Douglas, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Wynton Marsalis and countless others (two of which garnered him Grammy nominations), becoming a band leader in his own right with seven releases to date, as well as starting his own record label (Strick Muzik), Strickland has carved out a subsection of the scene that he likes to refer to as “unadulterated artistry.”

Disregarding his resume, Strickland is a first call musician for a reason. His mastery of the saxophone stems from a deep passion both for the instrument and for the music. Moreover, his passion for music has brought him into many different spheres of influence within the jazz, classical, electronic, hip-hop, funk, and soul realms. This is why we are truly excited to be giving away a one-hour Skype lesson with the great Marcus Strickland.
