Although Simon & Garfunkel released a version of “Mrs. Robinson” on The Graduate soundtrack, the band didn’t see any success from the song until a year later when they released it on their album Bookends. While most artists tend to gain more success from promotional songs, Simon & Garfunkel proved the opposite. Regardless, “Mrs. Robinson” couldn’t stay underground for too long. With it’s sunny chorus and upbeat guitars, the song had an almost magnetic attachment to the charts.
