Outkast Sheet Music - "Roses" on Chromatik

Beyond making this song's music video a rap-influenced homage to West Side Story, Outkast clearly drew some inspiration from glee club performances in composing their Valentine's Day heartbreak, "Roses."  From the introductory piano keys to Andre 3000's imitation of a gaunt new-wave artist in the song's chorus, "Roses" delicately combines disparate genres into a seamless emotional ballad to a point of showmanship. Most artists would strongly advice against pleasing everyone, but Outkast managed to create a sound so thrilling to different music listeners that "Roses" reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Only a decent ear for songwriting and hooks could stitch together the most appealing aspects of such eclectic genres.
