Iz's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" Sheet Music on Chromatik

Iz spent most of his career as a state legend in Hawaii, combining traditional Hawaiian music with political lyrics. He only came to national attention with his cover of Judy Garland’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” which almost never saw an official release. Iz recorded the cover randomly during a 1988 demo session, but producer John de Mello decided to place the cover on the 1993 album, Facing Future. Although this cover might not perfectly capture what Iz’s work represented, it made for an intimate rendition of the Judy Garland classic, sounding both somber and hopeful, perhaps giving us a candid look of the singer. http://bit.ly/1glLhKU
