There must be a demographic of people that were preteens circa 1999 that deeply associate airports with this song (I swear this is not from personal experience). A romantic ballad filled with yearning and heartbreak, the band's decision to film the music video at an airport made the perfect visual accompaniment to the song. Yet despite being such a momentous song in the late-90s boy band genre, the song has some darker roots. According to song writer Andreas Carlsson, the song's melody was actually inspired by Metallica's 1992 song, "Nothing Else Matters." Such a dissonance in inspiration and product shows that songwriters can find gems in unlikely places.
