Partch-ed for a Grammy®? Chromatik Arranger Nominated with Partch Ensemble!

The Chromatik team is elated to announce the Grammy®  nomination of our very own arranger Alex Wand for the categories of Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance and Best Classical Compendium! Besides being an integral member of our arranging team, Alex is an accomplished composer and performer, based out of Los Angeles.

Wand, who studied composition at University of Michigan and CalArts, utilizes alternative tuning systems and non-western musical elements to create a unique storytelling experience through his music.

The performing group nominated for the Grammy® is “Partch,” an ensemble formed in 1991 which celebrates and performs the work of iconic American composer Harry Partch.   Staying true to the original form, these artists have been called “Splendid Musicians” by Lou Harrison and “Stunning,” by the LA Times.
